IN MEMORY:

Jim Rudnick 1947-2007

We recently lost our best buddy to a five year battle with cancer. Jim started playing drums in high school and was the drummer for local surf band the “Tempests”, a staple at the Grand Theater dances in downtown Torrance in 1964 and ’65 and winners of numerous Battles of the Bands. Upon moving back to California from Washington State, Jim picked up drums again to play with the SoundWaves. While living in Washington, he played slide guitar and keyboards with various Seattle based blues bands but cited surf music as his first love

Jim was one of the founding members of the SoundWaves and the hard driving energetic backbone of the band.

He’s dearly missed by his band mates for his dry wit and all around friendship.

The memory lives on.
